Knowledge Mosaic extends its reach
Some time between now and when your firm’s Summer Associates head back to classes, we at Knowledge Mosaic will have exposed the data of yet more federal agencies to federated search on Knowledge Mosaic. These include some heavy hitters like the Department of Commerce and the IRS.
With the new additions, we’ll have nearly four dozen federal agencies and sub-agencies on our website, all cross-searchable from a single entry point. About one third of these agencies fall in the broad category of securities, commodities, and financial services (our traditional area of emphasis) — but that means two thirds of the pie is comprised of other practice areas. Click the image to the right to enlarge a pie chart showing a topical breakdown of the federal agencies on which we offer searching.
And as long as you’ve clicked into that PDF document, scroll down to see the entire list of agencies, with explanatory language for each. (You can also click here to see coverage periods for the individual data sets under each agency.)
The total number of federal agency materials we host on Knowledge Mosaic is poised to pass the one million mark some time in the next year. Meanwhile, we’ll be making additional upgrades to the Laws, Rules, and Agency Materials page, including introducing advanced Boolean text search to the page. That too, we hope, will be live by the time school starts back up.
