Quake Shuts Down Many Federal Agencies

Following today’s 5.8 magnitude earthquake centered near Richmond, Virginia, many federal government offices have been evacuated, and the publication of most agency materials has been halted.  That includes the most prolific source of documents, the SEC EDGAR system, which stopped disseminating filings shortly after the quake struck around 2 p.m. Eastern Time.

Officials expect things to be back to normal Wednesday morning.
