Love and Hate
Is Love triumphing over Hate? Google Trends says yes, so it must be true. In 2004, Love appeared in Google searches 14.6 times more than Hate. In 2010, Love has appeared in Google searches 19 times more than Hate.
That’s 30 percent more Love in the world!
The United States is one of the least loving nations, however. In 2004, Love appeared in US Google searches 10.9 times more than Hate. In 2010, Love shows up in US Google searches 13.9 times more than Hate. So we are loving more, but still trailing the rest of the world in Love by at least 6 years.
Within the United States, the New England states are crankiest, with ratios in 2010 for New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Maine hovering around 10 times more Love than Hate. Mississippi, by contrast, has 14.7 times more Love than Hate.
