Most Popular: Wall Street Bacchanalia

July 14, 2010

The most popular story on knowledgemosaic in recent days has been the opinion essay by Bob Herbert of the New York Times entitled Outside the Casino, which remarks on how the good times have returned to Wall Street, even as ordinary Americans in ordinary communities continue to struggle mightily to keep bread on the table, educate their children, pay their bills, and keep vital services operating.

Republicans often bloviate about the Beltway bureaucracy bubble, but the bubble in which Wall Street brews its financial alchemy, spinning gold from dust and engaging in revelry sponsored largely by taxpayers, receives far less attention politically.
