Woot.com has traveled far with its zany business model (sell one thing, and one thing only, each day) and its irreverent sense of humor. How far? All the way from Carrollton, Texas to Seattle, Washington, where Woot and Amazon recently consummated an acquisition. An acquisition now memorialized in a delightfully bizarre music video.
Today, Woot is receiving more welcome attention for calling out the Associated Press. The AP violated its own draconian interpretation of fair use (bloggers quoting more than 4 words from an AP story must pay by the word) by incorporating language from the Woot blog in its story about the acquisition. Woot is amused. The Associated Press apparently is not.
