listen to Matt Taibbi of Rolling Stone, who cuddles with Lara Logan about the Michael Hastings revelations that sent Stanley McChrystal’s military career into a death spiral. The gist of his diatribe against Lara Logan – a poster child for glam journalism – is that journalists for establishment media outlets gain access to people with power only by (implicitly) promising not to reveal anything that might damage those powerful people. The access becomes more important than the story.
